British Energy warning
British Energy, the nuclear power generator, warned that its surprise shutdown of its Heysham 1 power station could last until March and cost the company a further £30million.
The shut down, together with the shutdown of its Sizewell B plant has already cost the nuclear generator £50 million and forced it to increase its government overdraft facility from £200 million to £275 million.
The Heysham plant still requires further work before it is fit to operate.
