Mount Snowdon Generator Control Systems Upgrade
Power Continuity upgrades Mount Snowdon’s generator control systems. New bespoke systems installed on UK’s highest operational generators at altitude, April 2026.
Since 2011, Power Continuity has designed, built, installed and maintained the bespoke control systems for the generators on the summit of Mount Snowdon.
This year, it was decided to upgrade the generators’ control systems.
As the preferred supplier with a proven track record for reliability at these heights and in all types of atrocious weather conditions, Power Continuity was contracted to carry out the upgrade.
In April 2026, we re-cabled and installed the new bespoke control systems, tested and upgraded the remote monitoring systems, and commissioned and load-tested both generators.
These Power Continuity generators are the highest operational generators anywhere in the UK, operating 24/7 throughout the Snowdon season at altitude.
On a good day at the summit, the views are spectacular. The weather conditions are in perpetual flux – sunny blue skies give way to low cloud and freezing temperatures, then rain or sleet and strong winds, then sunshine once more. This was a breathtaking location, so please come and visit Snowdon to enjoy the most spectacular views from the summit.
