“It was recognised that we needed more stable power to our site. We already had some localised back-up power equipment provided by generators, however, the generators have a start-up time of around 15 seconds and so are not effective against brown-outs. We also have small uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units to prevent significant impact to sensitive computer equipment, but again they do not cover all equipment to eliminate the impact of the 'brown-outs' we were experiencing. So, it was decided we needed a site UPS to provide full electrical coverage. We worked with a company called Power Continuity to attain a rotary UPS and generator system.
